Durable Graphite Casting Mold for Efficient Welding Solutions

Use an appropriate base (same material and equivalent size). Allow the graphite mold to expand and contract. The furnace cover should not be pressed on the crucible. In the resistance furnace, the fiber blanket should not be tightly compressed onto the crucible. The lining must be repaired and made as concentric as possible, which will prevent the flame in the flame heating furnace from deflection and impact on the crucible to ensure correct melting.

Preheating and maintenance (furnace temperature)

> Preheat for 3 hours at a constant temperature at 200 degrees;

> Preheat at a constant temperature of 700 degrees for 2 hours;

> Preheat at a constant temperature of 900 degrees for 1 hour;

> Shut down the furnace to cool the crucible to no redness;

> Then the temperature is raised to the normal aluminum melting/feeding temperature and the feeding is added in a vertical direction of 90 degrees.

Notes of operating graphite mold

1. Preparing the mold: Before using a graphite mold, ensure that it is clean and free from any contaminants or residual materials. Cleaning the mold with a brush or compressed air can help remove any debris or particles that may affect the quality of the final product.

2. Mold temperature: Graphite molds are often used in high-temperature applications such as casting or molding. It is crucial to consider the appropriate mold temperature range for your specific application to prevent thermal shock or damage to the mold. Refer to the manufacturer's recommendations or consult with experts to determine the optimal temperature range.

3. Lubrication and release agents: Depending on the application, using a suitable lubricant or release agent can help facilitate the release of the molded product from the graphite mold. These substances can minimize friction and prevent sticking or adhesion. However, it is essential to use compatible and recommended lubricants or release agents to avoid any adverse reactions with the mold material.

4. Handling and storage: When handling graphite molds, it is important to do so with care to prevent any accidental impacts or dropping that could cause damage. Avoid placing excessive force on the mold or using sharp objects that could scratch or gouge the surface. After each use, clean the mold and store it following the proper storage methods mentioned earlier.

5. Cooling and heating rates: Graphite molds can expand or contract when exposed to rapid temperature changes. It is advisable to control the cooling and heating rates during the molding or casting process to minimize thermal stress on the mold. Gradual temperature changes can help prevent cracking or warping.

6. Maintenance and inspection: Regularly inspect graphite molds for any signs of wear, cracks, or deterioration. Small cracks or defects can potentially lead to mold failure or compromised product quality. Address any issues promptly by repairing or replacing the mold as necessary.

7. Follow guidelines and recommendations: Always follow the manufacturer's guidelines and recommendations for operating graphite molds. They can provide specific instructions on temperature limits, pressure limits, and other essential considerations based on the design and material of the mold.

The smelt soup in the crucible should be cleared out when the furnace stop working, in order to avoid molten soup solidification and will be expanded when fire to reheat, and affect the service life of crucible or even burst.

The graphite crucible should be protected from moisture. The warehouse for storing graphite crucibles should be dry and ventilated, and the temperature should be kept between 5ºC~25ºC, and the relative humidity should be 50-60%. The crucible must not be stored on brick soil or cement floor to avoid moisture.

In order to protect the glaze layer of the crucible, handling crucible must be very careful, to avoid knocking, collision or falling, we can't put the crucible on the ground and rolling to transport. Once the glaze layer of crucible is damaged, it will lead to oxidation and aging of crucible easily in the process of use. The crucible should be handled carefully in a padded cart (or other suitable conveyer).
